One of my favorite marketing methods that we talk a lot about here at Bestseller Publishing is ad buying.
There are a ton of benefits to buying advertising from being the one in control, getting more specific when targeting, the potential to reach huge numbers of people, etc.
However, if you’re new to buying ads or you don’t have the budget to do it well, you may be looking for alternatives.
I always tell my clients: marketing isn’t an expense, it’s an investment.
Regardless of your budget and how much time you have, marketing is a necessary addition to your business. But I’m sure you know that.
How important marketing is to one’s business is a topic that has been covered in more ways than one for hundreds of years.
Lucky for us, we get to do it online and there are a ton of great ways to market on the internet.
Here are a few of my favorite ways to market online for little to no money…
Start a blog: A blog does a few things… it helps your company get its name out there and it works as a way to connect with your consumers more directly. If you don’t have a blog, I suggest that you create one as soon as possible. But remember, you need to post semi-regularly because an abandoned blog is worth nothing.
Embrace Social Media: Many see social media just as a tool to gain exposure, but that isn’t the case. Now you can tie in ads and offers on your Facebook page, you can have a direct channel with your customers on Twitter, you can distribute creative promotional videos on YouTube, and you can network on LinkedIn. Use whichever platform you feel most comfortable on.
Utilize SEO: This is another great place to start. Let’s say you already have a blog and you’re present on social media is decent, but no one is clicking through. What do you do? Utilize search engine optimization. In a world of constant Googling, it’s now more important than ever to make sure your site is primed for performance on search engines. This is a huge topic, so if you aren’t familiar with it already, I suggest you find a book or online course to learn more.
Join an Online Group: Every niche and industry has an online community that you can involve yourself in. Personally, I really like Facebook groups. They can be really helpful during any stage of a business. If you actively contribute and build a rapport with the community, you’ll build relationships that will serve you down the road. But remember to keep your business out of it as much as possible. This might sound counterproductive, but the point of a group is not to promote yourself. The point is to offer value and share insights and then you can passively promote your business by putting a link in your signature or mentioning it when it’s appropriate.
Perhaps you’ve already tried these tactics and found some success. Lucky for you, there is no end to the number of ways you can use free publicity to generate awareness for your business.
This is just one of the thousands of articles out there about how to market your business for free, so I suggest doing more research on your own. The more you can learn about marketing, hopefully, it will become less of an enigma.
Remember, the best PR is a happy customer.
Get that right and the rest will take care of itself.

SEO kingdom isn’t just about having great content – it’s about understanding the context your audience craves. Here’s the royal decree, straight from an SEO veteran with 15 years of experience. Imagine your website as a magnificent castle, but instead of bards and jesters, you have bloggers and social media managers. Their job? To craft content that resonates with your target audience, the loyal subjects of your digital kingdom. Tools like Rush Analytics https://rush-analytics.com/land/meta-tags-checker can be your royal court, offering valuable intel on audience demographics and search trends. Here’s the key: Don’t just throw generic content out there like scattering seeds on barren ground. Research your audience’s needs and interests. What questions are they asking? What problems do they face? Tailor your content to address these issues directly, becoming the trusted advisor your audience turns to. Think of it as weaving a captivating tapestry. Intersperse high-quality information with visuals, infographics, and even humor (think court jesters keeping things lively!). Freshness is key too! Regularly publish new content to keep your audience engaged and search engines crawling back for more. By understanding the context your audience craves, you can transform your website into a thriving castle, a beacon of knowledge and entertainment attracting a loyal following. Remember, SEO is an ongoing quest, but with the right content strategy, you can reign supreme in the ever-evolving digital landscape.
